As captured by

2021

Inspired by photos of indigenous people captured by drones, this piece deals with side effects of drones usage in wildlife conservation like violation of privacy and the sophistication of small machinery that enables tiny drones to reach basically anywhere. A bathing scene reflects on these interruptions, local beliefs and myths about forest spirits, innocence and vigilance, taking the form of insect-like and animal-like drones. This work was done as part of Pint of Science 2021, responding to the work and research of Dr. Chris Sandbrook, Cambridge University.
